Martin King recommends a very handy free app called Riffstation. 'Riffstation' is for uke / guitar.
Thought it might be useful if you have any students who are trying to play along with songs or trying to map them out.
You search for a song, it plays the video and underneath it scrolls all the chords, you can also turn on a metronome which syncs and lets you keep the count easily for each bar, and tells you the bpm for the song, and the chord tells you which key each bar is in. You can then slow the tempo down as well if you want so it keeps the pitch but slows the song down to make it easier to learn.
Technique allows you to express yourself musically.
In the words of flautist, Sir James Galway, “If you don’t have the technique, you can’t produce the goods”.
"Practice makes progress" says Bruce Gillam
( WA clarinet teacher )
Roy Hamilton, drum tutor, tells his students
" You only have to practice on the days you eat. "
When world artist classical violinist Pinchas Zukerman was asked how he achieved his masterful sound and technique
he replied "Practice, practice, practice."
Joe Filisko says
“As the fingers are to a pianist so the tongue is to a harmonica player”
